Final Day of the Youth Muay Thai World Championship in Abu Dhabi Tomorrow

Abu Dhabi – September 18, 2025: His Excellency Abdullah Saeed Al Neyadi, President of the Asian and Arab Muay Thai Federations and Chairman of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, attended the semi-final bouts of the Youth Muay Thai World Championship, held at Space 42 Arena in Abu Dhabi.
On the sidelines of the event, Al Neyadi met with representatives of the International Federation, heads of national federations, and delegations from around the world, in the presence of leading international and Arab sports figures, reflecting the importance and prestige of the championship on the global sports calendar.
Tomorrow, Friday, September 19, Abu Dhabi will host the final day of the 2025 Youth Muay Thai World Championship. The event, held under the umbrella of the International Federation of Muay Thai and organized by the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, has been hailed as an unprecedented organizational success, further cementing its place as one of the world’s premier sporting events and supporting the global growth of Muay Thai.
Since its launch, the championship has seen record participation from over 100 countries, with athletes showcasing exceptional technical levels that underscored the event’s significance. The program also featured development workshops for coaches, referees, athletes, and officials, designed to exchange expertise and strengthen collaboration across the international Muay Thai community.
Daily referees’ meetings were also held to ensure the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in managing bouts, while the inclusion of Para Muay Thai competitions provided an inspiring showcase of inclusivity and integration.
The championship will conclude with final matches that began today, Thursday, September 18, for the 10–15 age group, and will continue tomorrow, Friday, September 19, with the 16–17 age group starting at 11:00 AM. The finals will be followed by the crowning of champions and the official gala dinner, where the best teams, athletes, and delegations will be honored in a celebratory atmosphere highlighting both organizational and sporting success.
IFMA General Assembly Concludes with Key Achievements
Earlier today, the International Federation of Muay Thai Associations (IFMA) concluded its General Assembly at the Rotana Hotel on Yas Island, achieving important milestones with wide participation. The meeting was attended by Dr. Sakchai Tapsuwan, President of IFMA; Stephan Fox, Secretary General; Tareq Mohammed Al Mehairi, Executive Director of the Asian Federation representing H.E. Abdullah Saeed Al Neyadi, IFMA Vice President; Idris El Hilali, IFMA Vice President; and representatives of 140 member national federations.
The UAE Federation was represented by Board Member Ali Khoury. Discussions focused on future development plans and the sport’s growing expansion across continents, particularly in Asia, where Muay Thai will make its official debut at the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain this October, a historic milestone for the sport.
The Assembly also reviewed key initiatives, including ongoing training programs for coaches, referees, and athletes; the strengthening of educational efforts; the organization of international championships; and the development of regulatory strategies to further elevate Muay Thai and expand its global reach.
