Emirates Kickboxing League for Youth and Juniors
Muay Thai & Kickboxing Federation kicks off its first sports season on Friday afternoon 24/12/2017 in the sports hall at its premises at Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club with the opening of Emirates Kickboxing League for Youth and Juniors between 10 and 17 years of age. The League opens in cooperation between the Arab and International Kickboxing Federations which pay great attention to those age groups who are shaping the future of the game. The opening championship will witness the participation of 12 teams from all over the UAE, representing the emirates of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, Um Al Quwain and Fujairah. The Regulations of the championship set competition rules among light contact and full contact categories who represent self-defense arts. The age group taking part in the championship shall be 10 to 14 years, while youth category will be focused on the low kick style. The Competitions Committee selected 150 players to compete in the opening championship for the two categories. Matches will be refereed by a panel from the UAE Muay Thai & Kickboxing Federation.
H.E. Abdullah Saeed Al Nyadi, Board Chairman of the Muay Thai & Kickboxing Federation, instructed the Competitions Committee to ensure the success of the opening competition of the Emirates Kickboxing League for Youth and Juniors and meet all the requirements of success in keeping with the enthusiasm of all member clubs that readily expressed their willingness to take part in the League. This event is seen as great support for the Federation in the coming stage. Al Nyadi instructed the Teams and Coaches Committee to closely monitor the finals of the championship to spot any promising names in the two categories with the aim of supporting national teams in these age groups and honing their skills.
